Soda Fountain Finder (“we”) is a community map of self-serve soda fountains. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect and how we use it. Questions? Email contact@sodafountainfinder.com.
What we collect
- If you log in: your email address. Logging in is optional.
- What you add: fountain locations, photos, the sodas listed, fizziness and ice ratings, reports, and any notes. Anything you add is shown publicly on the map.
- Basic technical data: like most websites, our hosting and map providers receive your device’s IP address and standard request information to serve pages and map tiles.
How we use it
- To run the map, show fountains and photos, and let you log in.
- To keep the site usable: spot spam, remove bad entries, and respond to reports.
- We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a few service providers that process data on our behalf to run the site:
- Supabase — stores the database, your login, and uploaded photos.
- Vercel — hosts the website.
- OpenStreetMap and CARTO — provide the map tiles, and receive your IP address when the map loads.
- Anthropic — only if you use “Detect sodas from photo,” the photo you uploaded is sent to Anthropic’s AI to read the soda names. It is not used to train models under that service.
Photos
Photos are resized before saving, which strips hidden data many phones add (such as GPS location and timestamps). Even so, please do not upload anything private, or photos showing other people without their okay.
Your choices
- You can browse the map without an account.
- You can ask us to delete your account and the content tied to it. Email contact@sodafountainfinder.com.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Cookies
If you log in, we use a sign-in cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising trackers.
